Undoubtedly, Instagram and Facebook are the dominating social media platforms, which are used by many online users. In their news blog, they have added they are activating new features to Instagram and Facebook. With the new feature, users will be able to check its activity and could manage their time well than before.
Time-Management Tool for Instagram and Facebook
This new tool is developed based on inspiration and collaboration with leading organization, health experts, feedback from the Facebook community, academic, and with their own extensive research. Tying to make their Instagram and Facebook app for a positive, intentional and inspiring, they have made it more control over the usage time.
In Facebook Newsroom forum David Ginsberg, Director of Research at Facebook, and Ameet Ranadive, Product Management Director at Instagram said,
Today we are announcing new tools to help people manage their time on Facebook and Instagram: an activity dashboard, a daily reminder and a new way to limit notifications. We developed these tools based on collaboration and inspiration from leading mental health experts and organizations, academics, our own extensive research and feedback from our community. We want the time people spend on Facebook and Instagram to be intentional, positive and inspiring. Our hope is that these tools give people more control over the time they spend on our platforms and also foster conversations between parents and teens about the online habits that are right for them.
How to use new Time Management in Instagram and Facebook?
This new Time management system is live for both Facebook and Instagram app. Now you can check a dashboard showing your average time for using these two apps. To know how to use make sure these apps are updated and follow the below instruction.
They have made it clear on their website how to use these new time management feature in your updated apps. Here are some words from Facebook official team to use activity status.
To access the tools, go to the settings page on either app. On Instagram tap “Your Activity,” and on Facebook, tap “Your Time on Facebook.” At the top, you’ll see a dashboard showing your average time for that app on that device. Tap any bar to see your total time for that day. Below the dashboard, you can set a daily reminder to give yourself an alert when you’ve reached the amount of time you want to spend on that app for that day. You can change or cancel the reminder at any time. You can also tap on “Notification Settings” to quickly access the new “Mute Push Notifications” setting. This will limit your Facebook or Instagram notifications for a period of time when you need to focus.
Other than time management feature, now these two apps also have instant notification mute feature. Now without going to the main device settings, you will be able to block or limit notification for a limited time to keep yourself focus on your task.
