As the current reports WhatsApp is working on two features –swipe to replay for Android device and a new dark mode. A select number of users may start to see the feature on the beta build but it is yet to be made available on the beta version. The WaBetaInfo reported this first, which is a reliable source for all the updates which arrived on WhatsApp or its beta version.
Swipe to replay is the first update and this is currently available on iOS and this is expected to available on iOS and also expected to come on Android. Using this simple feature the users will able to swipe messages right to reply followed by a reply action. As compared to the Android’s current method where they have too long press on a message for the replay, this is a faster method. Still, it is not known that if it is an additional feature along with the long press action or it will replace it, but WhatsApp is working currently on it so that they make this feature available on Android as well.
The iOS users have been enjoying this feature of swipe to replay for a long time, but due to some unknown reasons, Android users have been left out. A new update was recently submitted by WhatsApp through the Google Play Beta Programme, which brings the beta version up to 2.18.282 respectively.
